Did you mean:

are releases cumulative?

Gordon Clearwood August 21, 2015

we obviously did not request properly to be notified when new release of the base JIRA software is available.  We currently are on 6.1 and want to get current.

Do we have to go thru all the 6.1.1, 6.1.2....

or can we go 6.2, 6.3,6.4....

or better yet straight to the newest release?

Are the release cumulative or are we in for a painstaking update process?

Thanks

Generally, you can't do large jumps, and you do need to read through all the release notes for the main releases when you upgrade.

In this scenario, you should

  • Read the release notes for 6.2.something
  • Read the release notes for 6.3.something
  • Read the release notes for 6.4.something
  • Upgrade from 6.1 straight to the latest version - this is not a "large" jump, and JIRA will handle it fine.
