Hello Team,
In our Jira, i see the default Issue type screen scheme is having two screen schemes.
1. default screen scheme(which contains Epic, story, task and subtasks)
2. Bug screen scheme(which is for Bug issue type).
The above default issue type screen scheme is getting created by default if any project got created.
But some of the projects other projects got a issue type scheme with the following types as follows.
1. scrum screen scheme(which contains Bug, story, task and subtasks)
2. Epic screen scheme(which is for Epic issue type).
which one will be the best way to handle it? or anything with our organizational convinience would be fine to use it?
Please suggest, i just wanted to finalize one, that would reduce the duplicate creation many screen schemes going forward while creating the project.
Please let me know if you guys need any more details on this.
Thanks
Daya
Hi,
This depends on how you want it set up.
Jira auto-creates screen-schemes when you create a new project from the default blueprints, and what schemes that are created vary by what blueprint you choose.
You should look on what you need for the project, you might even manage with only one scheme.
I suggest you look into the screens and screen schemes associated with the issue type screen scheme that are in question. If you can manage with the same screens in specific situations for all issuetypes you can merge the schemes.
If you need one type of screens on for example incident on the create issue, and you need a different screen on the create issue for epic (or another issue type), you need those different screen schemes mapped to the issue type in the issue type screen scheme.
So I recommend you to just check the screen schemes and screens and configured to how you are going to work in Jira.
