can't find existing issue filters

Elyashiv Grosser November 17, 2022

Hi,

Although they exist, I can't find issue filters (JQL filters) by their name.

1. I have admin permissions and have access to all projects and filters or anything else, so this isn't a permission issue.

2. I confirmed these issue filters exist via the Jira Server DB (using the searchrequest table).

3. Tried to find these filters in all 3 methods, in all 3 I couldn't find the filters:

   a. JQL search: filter="<filter_name>"

   b. using "Manage Filters" search searching for the filter name of partial name

   c. searching via "Shared Filters" via the administration of Jira GUI

I can find the IDs of the filters and then use filter=<filter_id> but regular users won't find the IDs.

I someone familiar with this issue? looking for a tip how I can debug it...

Thanks!

Hi Elyashiv,

  • If you create a new filter, can you search for them by name?
  • If you use IDs, does it return the correct filter results?
  • Is this happening to a specific filter?
    • If so, can you share the filter name?

I'd also suggest rebuilding your search indexes in case of an indexing issue.

Hi @Sayed Bares _ServiceRocket_ ,

  • If you create a new filter, can you search for them by name?

yes, if someone creates, I can see the newly created filter. The problem is for previous filters, created in the last few months.

  • If you use IDs, does it return the correct filter results?

If I use IDs, I see the correct results,

Is this happening to a specific filter?

No it's not happening for a specific filter.
