cancel an access request rather than deny

As an administrator, is there anyway to cancel a user's Jira access request rather than 'deny' it?    In this case the user made the access request by mistake and I'd rather just cancel it as I understand that if you 'deny' access it prevents that user from requesting future access.

All the docs I've found so far only relate to denying access.
