I am currently trying to evaluate JIRA for bug tracking. I have installed the server software on windows server 2008 R2 which in turn is running on parallels (virtual environment)on a Apple Mac mini. The JIRA client (3.0.2) software for a Mac os x is installed on a different machine running in the same local network. While trying to create a new connection from the JIRA client to the server, it fails to find the server.
I think you probably have a network interface ip/visibility issue. Are you able to ping the VM from your host machine, use a web browser even? Once you can do that I would look at the JIRA client...
