connecting to server database

i have installed jira 8.1 on my system and i want to configure my own my sql database. how can i do it.

i also i dbconfig.xml file but i am confused here how can i add my database here.

help me

Hi @dinesh ,

 

Welcome to the community. 

If you start your fresh installed server, there will be a wizard where you can configure your database.

If you already did that, and now want to change the database, you can just shutdown jira  delete the dbconfig.xml file and start it again.

Then the wizard will appear again, but you will loose existing data. If you want to keep your data, you can do an export before and import it after the database change.

Hi @dinesh ,

DB configuration is handled in the browser.

Please navigate to http://localhost:8080 or where Jira is running and finish the installation and DB configuration there.
