create/edit/release cross project version(release) to replace releasedog

hello

we are looking for an alternative to on-prem add on "release dog" to use in the jira cloud.

I saw that there is a way to create and to release a version cross multiple projects using automation rules

is there also a way to handle the case of change in release date or name change , using automation or script runner? or any other option?

if so please kindly supply examples.
