hi - i'm new to jira.  can't figure out how to take a board and use it on multiple other projects.  basically, we want to create a finite set of kanban board layouts, based on our small set of different project types, and use these as templates.  Then, when we create a new project, we would like to select from one of ~ 3 or 4 existing board templates.  Can't seem to figure it out and would appreciate any help.

thanks

You may have to check your permissions for this, but if you have project administrator rights, you should be able to do this:

From the board that you have configured, you will click on the "board" dropdown in the top right and select Copy.

You will get a new board Copy of Original board, which you can rename.

on the general tab  of the new board, you will need to update a few sections

1.  the filter for the current project

2. Under Shares, click, edit filter shares

Add Viewers/Editors dropdown, Choose project and then click your new project.

    Save

There are a few other options you can change if you need any customization, but that should allow you to use a standard board on multiple projects.
