Is there an option to have a custom field, such as a multi-line field, etc., that can behave like the native "Comments" functionality? We're using REST to create issues in a Jira Software project from a CRM app, and we would like to have a custom field that could be used to contain the "thread" of comments made in the CRM app. So each time a "comment" is made, the content is appended to the exiting field. Is that even possible?

Hi @Durell Demartini not out of the box, but with a plugin like Scriptrunner it is. For that matter I set this up just last week on a project I'm working on for a client that has purchased scriptrunner. I'm sure there's other script plugins too. Another option would be to build it out in your own plugin. In Jira Cloud and DC there's automations that may satisfy this, I've not tried that but it might...
