When I create an issue, can I automatically put the person who created the issue in the person I'm reporting to?

recently, The person who creates the current issue automatically enters the reporter.

and The person in charge must be specified.

Hi @이상미

I'm not sure what you mean here - can you clarify?

The Reporter defaults to the Creator unless a different Reporter is specified during issue creation.

You can set this to another user during creation manually - or potentially using Automation for Jira. But how would you work out who the "person in charge" is in this example?

When you create an issue, the person who created the issue is automatically registered in the Reporter.

but, the manager must be assigned a manager manually.

Can I put a manager automatically like a reporter?

Hi @이상미

Apologies for the delay coming back to you - did you find a solution for your issue?

If not, have you considered trying Automation? This is now inbuilt into each Jira Cloud instance.

You could create a rule that:

  • Trigger: Triggers when an issue is created
  • Condition: Checks for who the creator of the issue was (one of multiple users)
  • Action: Edit the Manager field on the issue

^ You could create one rule per manager - or create one rule with multiple outcomes using the condition "if / else".

Just remember Automation has global rule execution limits per Cloud tier - 100 for free, 500 for standard and 1000 per user for premium, per month. However, you do get unlimited project-level executions.
