emails and acknowledgements

We are using Jira Core and I've setup a workflow that uses the Email This app to send en email to the email address in a custom field on the workflow screen. Is there a way for the recipient to acknowledge the receipt (they are NOT Jira users). So an example email would be something like:

To xxx@xxx.xxx

Training session set for Tuesday @ 3:30

Not sure if a link could be placed in the email that even though the recipient isn't a Jira user they could acknowledge and it would mark something in the issue?? I may be stretching here.
