finding defect's previous type

I was moving few epics, stories, spikes, and defects from various boards to a new board, in that process I changed all the defect type to defect.

 How do I revert back to the original defect type?

History operators do not work on issuetype field. So i dont think there is a way to query a defect's previous type.

You could do this for your current problem-> manually look at the history of each changed tickets to find what was the previous type. Put a label in the ticket accordingly and group them based on their previous status. Query them separately based on the labels and then do bulk change move to their previous types.

I need to do this for 502 items, manually it will take me a lot of hrs.

You can use "bulk edit" to do it in blocks (select a set of issues you want to move to a particular old type, then use "move issue" to change the type)

@Jagdish Vankadari, I think you should perform a move it back. 

when you move a defect from a one type to another a history entry occurred regarding the change. you can find the previous type the defect was in y that history entry.
