Hi there.

having configured my free version of Jira Cloud to show the Roadmap screen (view), all my issues, stories and epics seem to be properly display (in the Roadmap view)... but I cannot see any gantt chart bars being displayed (issues, stories, epics), although I have defined start and end dates, durations, etc....

I'm using the free version of Jira Cloud.

Would you know if this free version can display a simple gantt chart?

Thanks.

FN

Hi @FN

Do you mean the Roadmap view, accessed from the sidebar?

For Epics...

  • The roadmap bar should be showing up regardless
  • You can drag a bar on there for the Epics, or set the Start Date/Due Date fields, which also creates the bar
  • Make sure you're scrolling back/forwards on the roadmap to find the bar, in case it's in far in the future or in the past. You can also change the timeframe between weeks, months, or quarters - if your roadmap is quite large.

For Tasks, Stories, etc...

  • The bars are not shown by default using the date fields at this time
  • For Scrum Boards...
    • The bars are shown based on which active/future Sprint an Issue is planned into (assuming dates are set). You can then do some sprint scheduling from the roadmap view. See more on this help page.
  • For Kanban Boards...
    • This functionality is not yet available, but is being trialled. See JSWCLOUD-18668 for more information.

Alternatively, you could look at an App for this functionality.

As you're on a Free instance of Jira, you'll have less than 10 users. At this user count, there are a range of Apps which are either free, or very low in cost.

Check out some options on the Marketplace using this search.

You can also check out this article for details of Apps being free for small instances.
