getting multiple emails for each field changed

For Jira  versions before 8, looking for a  way to limit multiple emails going out for every field changed on an issue.

We do want a notification of the issue being changed, but if 5 fields are changed, we do not want 5 separate emails...

Can this be limited? We are running Jira 7.9.

A helpful addon would also be considered.

Unfortunately, out of the box, there is only the "task change" event and if it is completed you will receive an email. If 5 changes are made at a time, and the Save button is pressed once, you should receive one email, otherwise, there will be 5.

You can limit/expand the capabilities of notifications, for example, using the plugin ScriptRunner, but you need to know how to write scripts
