This newest version seems to force you to create a new project in Jira when importing the csv file. I want to import csv data into an existing Jira project. How is that done now?
Follow the instructions provided by Shikha Verma.
Navigate to your Filters menu.
Select View All Filters and choose an existing filter, or create a new one.
Once you're inside the filter, click the ... button and select Import Issues from CSV.
Next, follow these steps:
1. Select your CSV file and, if needed, choose your configuration file.
2. In the settings, choose the project you want to import the CSV into.
3. Map your fields accordingly.
4. Validate the field mappings.
Your CSV should now be successfully imported into your project!
Do it in the issues view inside each project, it opens up the old experience (now) I wish it will open the new experience once it will be available.

I discovered this as well. We need to have Atlassian keep that as I help people all the time add to an existing project.

Go to "Create Project" (not create issue). Instead, go to where you choose project templates.
Scroll down to the last end and find "Import Data" and click it.
You will see the image below.
Click on "Switch to old experience"
You will see the image below; click on CSV or JSON if applicable to your case to upload your file.
Choose your file.
As you proceed; make sure your date and time matches the style or format you have used. Also take note of Jira new terminologies like work type = issue type, work item key = issue item key. Just make sure you map your inputs properly before you import.
Save the configuration that works well, so that next time you just have to import that configuration alongside your csv or json.
All the best.

You can import a CSV file into an existing Jira Cloud project using Skyvia (https://skyvia.com/connectors/jira). It allows you to map your data fields and upload CSV files directly without creating a new project.

Hey, @Kellie Mingus Try this:
Jira Settings > System > External System Import and choose CSV Import. Upload CSV File. Select Existing Project. Map Fields: Map the CSV fields to the corresponding Jira fields, ensuring all mandatory fields are correctly matched. Complete Import.
Make sure you have the necessary permissions and correctly map all required fields.

Thank you, Shikha. What you suggest above is how I've always done it. The screen has changed and does not give the same options as before. Selecting CSV Import at the bottom, now forces you to create a new project in Jira.
I just discovered that there is an option at the top of the screen in the "external System import" called 'switch to the old experience', which allowed me to do the import the way I always have & how you suggest above. It's just a little misleading because it reads, "If you’d like to import data into Jira Service Management or Jira Product Discovery, 'switch to the old experience'." This doesn't really describe what I am doing, but it did work when I switched.
Thanks again for your quick response!

Thank you for adding the solution @Kellie Mingus - wonder why this option isn't available in the new experience?

Agreed, It is still not available and misleading, why is new experience not having option to upload csv for existing projects?

Try switching to "old experience". That works for me.

The "Next" button after selecting fields in the old experience does not work for me. Did you run into this? Any thoughts?
