how do i delete a default column in column management

I have added columns in column management and I still see the 'default' sample in my display. I can not delete it since it is grayed out.

Hi Lynn,

I've created a new project on my test instance and it shows the option to delete the columns.

Can you please send us a screenshot where it shows greyed out?
Also, are you using Jira Software Cloud or Server?
