how do i move an issue from the backlog to the board using keyboard only?

As a blind keyboard user that does not use a mouse, how do i move an issue from the backlog to the first column of the board not using the mouse 'drag and drop method'. When Jaws is turned on, it says "to move select with space and use ctrl/command arrow keys to move" - but I have not found this to work.

Hi @Emma Ellis -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You could try this for a Company-managed project: when on the backlog view, select the issue you want, press the period-key to trigger the menu, type the name of the Status for the first board column, and press Enter. 

This does not work for Team-managed projects as the shortcuts appear to be different.
