i wanna measures defects an order by root cause..

you can create a filter but I would need more info to fully suggest what that should look like.

here is something to start you thinking...

• go to Search issues screen and click Advanced
• enter your JQL - something like this - project = abc ORDER by "Root Cause"

you will need to fill in your project ID and replace "Root Cause" w/ whatever custom field you have to indicated root cause
