Did you mean:

how do you see older burn down charts then the last 10

Anita File September 21, 2021

When you look at reports and specifically the burn down reports it only gives me the option to view the last 10 .  How do i find access those older then this that we did in previous years.  They are useful to see if we get a similar project come up to estimate timescales etc but we can only see the last 10 sprint charts nothing further back then this

Hi @Anita File !

If you would be interested in a third-party app for Sprint reporting, you can check out eazyBI.

Here is an example dashboard with many Sprint reports: https://eazybi.com/accounts/1000/dashboards/5956-sprints-overview. While this also contains just a few last sprints, it is easy to configure how far back you would like to go; you could configure a report with all board sprints if this is what you would be looking for.

Let me know if you have any further questions regarding eazyBI reporting!

Hi @Anita File -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

There is an open suggestion to add that option, which you may watch/vote for to see progress: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-21695

However for your use case, I am unclear how that would help your team.  The limits on the Jira reporting in this area help teams to not use out-of-date data to make decisions.

  • Considering who is on your team now versus years ago, have any people joined or left the team?
  • Considering the type of work items your team does, have any of those types changed?
  • Has your team changed how they do work over time, such as analysis, development, testing, release practices, etc.?
  • What have your team members learned over time?  Are they more experienced and skilled than they were years ago?

Using very old data could result in forecasting with things no longer relevant for your team.  One exception might be if your team is using very short sprints.

If you believe your older data is still relevant, you could investigate calling the REST API to get older sprint data, or check the marketplace for add-on apps to purchase for additional reporting.

Kind regards,
Bill
