we have a board with Epic designed as swimlanes. each Epic is handled by a designated member as a individual project which look like the below
We want to achieve a solution such that when all the items such as task subtasks features and all are completed which are part of that epic it should be Hidden from the board but should be available in the project for future reference.
In regards to your query, Epics do not automatically close or archive. However if you mark a closed Epic as "Done", it will not appear on the Epic list on your Kanban Board.
To mark epics as Done, you can refer to this epic tutorial under "Step 6: Complete your epic". It explains how to do so on both Classic and Next-gen projects.
To complete an epic:
Open the Epics Panel on the left
Click the drop-down arrow for your epic, and select Mark as Done.
This might be done while your epic is in progress status. Then you should not see this on the list unless you click "Show done epics" in the drop down list
Hi @Rohan ,
For team-managed projects: When selecting an Epic for an Issue, is there a way to disable the option to search or select Epics marked as "Done"?
I found the ticket below on your team's backlog, but I would love to know if there is another solution for that.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-21733 - Do Not allow "Done" epics to be assigned as parent issue to jira stories in Team Managed project
Thank you in advance :)

It's not possible to hide "Done" Epics in TMP at the moment I'm afraid, it's a suggestion though (as you've linked above).
Limiting the Epic Link field to remove "Done" Epics is only available in CMP at this time.

You need to update the Epic Status field, to move it to "Done" - then it should disappear from the board.
Personally, I'd move the Epic Status to "Done" when the Epic transitions to its Done Status - you can do this using a post function in your Epic's workflow.
