how to change the permission scheme on a project

hi, i have two projects and they are both under the default permission scheme so all users have access to them. I would like to change the permission scheme on one of the projects so i can control who is  allowed  access to the one. I created a new permission scheme but now i cant figure out how to change the permission scheme on the specific project. Does anyone know how?

Im ignorant of all these but i thought i could create a group that has access to the project and control that way but that didnt seem to work either.

thanks for the help.

In your project, go to Project settings > Permissions, and from here click Actions > Use a different scheme and then select the new scheme you created.

Hi @Mikael Sandberg @Bastian Stehmann
Thanks for your previous answers.

I do not see the "Permissions" options under "Project settings" despite being the project administrator (see Screenshot).

Am I missing a permission ? or have the permission scheme settings been changed ?

Thanks

@Pierrick

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Team-managed projects does not have a permission scheme that you can change.

Hi @Jon ,

You have to go to the project settings, then choose permissions. There should be a button on the top right to change the permission scheme.

You can use groups for permissions. Best will be to use roles in the permission scheme and then add the group to a role in the project. Then you need only one permission scheme and can define the groups in each project.

got it guys, thanks.

another question along those lines. What are the options on permissions with certain statuses if they are in the same project? can you restrict  browsability of a certain status if the user has permission in the project?

You can't configure permissions for a status. You can take a look at issue security,  with that you can configure visibility on a per issue basis.

You would have to change the level depending on status then.
