how to create a plan for my portfolio which has different projects?

venkatesh bojja February 6, 2023

I have got 5 different projects under a portfolio.I need one plan to view all the project plans.
If i click on portfolio plan , it should show all project plans.
If i click on any project paln, it should show all epics and user stories under the project plan.
How to achieve this requirement?

Hi @venkatesh bojja and welcome to the Community!

It seems like it would not be a bad idea to read some of the Advanced Roadmaps documentation.

In short, you'll need to define the issue hierarchy in Jira to define how issue types relate to one another as parents and children.

Next, when creating a new plan, you will have to determine the issue sources for your plan. It is no problem to add issues from multiple projects into a single plan (that is essentially what the tool is designed for), but you will have to decide whether you want to import the issues from projects, filters or boards. There is a pretty strong recommendation to use boards as the issue sources. As you may have set up separate boards for each project or maybe have a single board for all at once will impact how you best get the data into your plan.
