how to disable News in top of the Jira screen

How to disable News in top of the Jira screen, as it take some space and reduce the screen visibility.

Usually, a Jira Admin has turned the banner on - it's not on by default.

If you aren't an Admin, your only option is to dismiss the banner - if this setting is active. If dismissing is an option, there will be a small white "x" on the right-hand end of the banner.

If you are an Admin and want to remove the banner...

1. Go to Jira Settings > System
2. Select Announcement Banner
3. Toggle Banner is shown to users to OFF
4. Press Save
