venugoplala naidu November 21, 2018

My US workflow contains all steps until production (done) but the sprint ends with an intermediate step (ready for test). all next steps are not included in sprint. can the velocity be calculated from an intermediate step ?

Hello,

Velocity is calculated by the last column in the board. If you want to calculate velocity by an intermediate status, then you would need to link this status to the most right column in the board.

Hi @venugoplala naidu,

I think Velocity is a measure of Scrum, so the velocity report only exists in the Scrum Board. There is no such report in Kanban.

Regarding the rate of calculation from the intermediate step that you proposed, it is achievable in the Scrum Board. The estimated value is filled in the Backlog before the sprint is started. In the Board configuration, the intermediate steps you mentioned are matched to the done  Column, when the sprint ends, the system will automatically calculate the actual value of the velocity.
