how to remove ticket from completed sprint

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
project A (DEV) and B (CONF) both have agile boards with separate sprint management.
a ticket from project A has been mistakengly associated to a sprint of project B.
the sprint from project B is closed.
in project A report menu lists the sprint from project B as selectable for reports and charts (because it's referencing the ticket aforementioned)
by removing the association from this particular ticket I guess I could remove it from the list.
it is particularly annoying for those plugins that automatically list all available sprints the project, where you have a wrong item and you can't remove it.
