Hi,

We have a custom workflow in jira : ToDo->In progress->Dev Blocked->QA->QA blocked->UAT  testing->Uat blocked->UAT Validated->Done.

During the sprint changeover the tickets that are in blocked state are not counted towards the carry forward story points. these blocked tickets do carry forward but their story points are not counted. So it does not show a correct picture of the story points carry forward in either Burndown or Burnup charts.

Is there a way to get the correct amount of SP reported. AT present i am able to query on it. Is it a possibility in Jira server to modify the way it reports or any other tool that can be customized to this level?

Thanks,

Amit

Hello @Amit gupta

Welcome to the community.

Can you explain more about what you mean when you say the story points on the carried-forward blocked issues are not counted in the new sprint?

When an issue moves forward from one sprint to another, the story points for the issues should show in the original sprint as incomplete, and should show up in the new sprint as part of the committed story points.

Or are you saying that you don't want the story points of those carried forward issues to be included in your the reports for new sprint? If that is the case, have you considered resetting the Story Point fields on those issue to 0 after they are added to the new sprint?

What version of Jira Server are you using?

The built in Jira agile reports cannot be configured to count story points for stories in sprints only some of the time. The points for all stories in the sprint will be reported.
