Are the new "projects" and goals functionality free?  What do you need to do to enable them in Jira?

Yes,

Atlas aka platform experience is free and part of the Atlassian eco-system. They have announced it will be free for life. This is away to track business projects initiatives and connect your data form Confluence, Jira, JSM. It also allows you to use Teams and keep people informed. It is also for tracking goals and making goals connect to Jira where those work items are impacting your goals.

Hi @Mary Irion,

Yes, Atlas (Projects and Goals) is completely free! Here's how to enable it:

  1. Go to your Atlassian site admin
  2. Navigate to "Products"
  3. Look for "Atlas" and enable it
  4. Access via the app switcher (9-dot menu) in your Atlassian products

Once enabled, you can create projects, set goals, and connect them to your Jira issues and Confluence pages. It's great for tracking how your work items impact broader business objectives.

The best part? Atlassian has committed to keeping Atlas free permanently.

If you run into any setup issues, feel free to DM me!

Hope this helps!
