is it possible to trigger a screen like the transition screen on assignee change

in an attempt to make my teams use of jira less error prone i would like to trigger a screen when the assignee of a ticket is changed

i can see no way of doing this in the workflow or ticket options of the project or Jira level settings, is it possible?

No there is no way to achieve this normally.

A workaround would be:

1. Remove the assignee field from the edit issue screen.
2. Add a transition to all statuses in your workflow called assign issue.
3. Add a screen to this transition with the assignee field.

This way, people cannot directly assign issues and they will need to use the transition to assign the issue.

I suspect you will need to replace the normal notification event with the assign issue on the transition for the new assignee to be notified.
