I ran a report to see tickets updated on a daily basis and wanted to schedule the report to run and be sent via email on a daily basis, but it does not look like that is an option. Am I missing something.

By "ran a report" do you mean you used the Search Issue screen to generate a list of issues that match your criteria? If so, you can save that filter and share it with individuals (or projects, or make it public). Then the filter can be subscribed to, and the output of the subscription received via email.
You can set up a subscription to the filter for a user group, but you can't set up a subscription that otherwise names other individuals. Those individuals would have to set up their own subscription to the filter.
