jenkins plugin: Unable to auto-configure a Consumer as the remote

When configuring application links for the Jenkins JIRA Plugin I get the following:

Unable to auto-configure a Consumer as the remote. Consumer info could not be found.

I cancel the operation as it just hangs. The application link then appears. I can configure the username and password.

Syncing a build shows the correct number of builds. But the CI Build tab is empty.

The Jenkins instance is running behind an apache proxy. Could this be the issue?

If so what is the issue with the proxy setup? Has anyone ran into this and solved this?

We are also facing the same issue. Is there any resolution/workaround to this problem??
