We're in a JIRA Cloud instance. We have a project with over 3500 issues. On our Kanban board, we have >1000 in our last column. We're seeing quite a performance hit when working with the build. We notice if we remove the status in that last column - to eliminate >1000 issues, our performance goes up greatly. Is this just a constraint in JIRA Cloud, or is there something we can be doing to improve performance?
Is your last column "Done" or similar? Do you need those issue to be displayed there? If it isn't a SW project where you are using the "Release" feature to get those issues off the board consider the following options:
