jira.iisue.editable not working as expected

I have project with a permission scheme. I want to disable the Edit button from issues in the project.

I have used jira.iisue.editable=false for the corresponding status of the issue. But still the Edit option is enabled.

Is it because of the existinf permission scheme assigned to the project?

Please recheck where you have added the property and is the workflow published after the changes.

i.e. Find the Status in the workflow, click on the View step's properties and ensure the jira.issue.editable property in the workflow step is set to false
