Hi Siva,

  • Is this a new install or an upgrade?
  • Did this start after a restart?
  • Has this ever worked?
  • Have you recently modified the server.xml?

You will want to check the Catalina.out and atlassian-jira.log to see what errors are being thrown and go from there.  Verify the following:

  • Plugins are not starting
  • Restart JIRA and verify you see Tomcat started
  • Search the catalina.out for "You can now access JIRA through your web browser."
  • Port 8080 is the port in use in server.xml

Let us know what you find.

Cheers,

Branden

You are going to have to tell us more than that.

What exactly is the error message, what are you trying to connect with, have you checked Jira is running on the machine you are connecting from (it's not remote, as you said localhost), what do the logs say?
