limits.conf setting and IOException Too many open files

We are getting some errors in our production environment : IOException: Too many open files

We plan to increase ulimit from 1024 to 4096, as described here : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Loss+of+Functionality+due+to+Too+Many+Open+Files+Error

By the way, can you provide some feedback ?

You can't say for sure the correct limit without knowing the usage, plugin details etc. It will vary based on many parameters.

IMO, the first will surely be to increase it to 4096 and see if that helps!
