linked issue is not displayed correctly

Katharina Fenner April 16, 2020

Hello everyone, I have the problem that some existing tickets that I want to link to a ticket do not display correctly. What's the reason here?

Likewise, comments cannot be saved more often in Jira Tickets:

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi Katharina,

Sorry to hear about your problems with using our Cloud products.  I can see from the first error you are getting, this appears to translate to effectively

an operation with this key was not found

I can also see from your screenshot that you appear to be entering the full URL for the Jira issue.  That link issue field cannot accept that URL value for creating this link.  Instead try using just the issuekey ( ZMS-714 ) instead.  If that doesn't help, then looking again at your second screenshot it looks like that issue SUP-596 already has a relates to issue link to ZMS-714, which could also explain why you can't create a duplicate link of the same type to the same issue.

As for the problem you are having with trying to store comments, it looks like the error you are getting is translating to:

Your comment could not be saved

It could be empty or contain invalid formats. If you have copied and pasted something, remove the formatting and add it to the editor

Is this content being copied from another location?  Does it contain images?  We typically see this error when you are trying to submit some kind of markup/formatting that Jira is not able to correctly store/save that formatting.  In turn this error message is there to prevent you from believing that we can store what you have provided us accurately.

I am interested to learn the content of that comment that would cause this in your use case here.

Regards,

Andy
