On old server I have jira 7 and I want to migrate to new server on jira 8.
I already installed jira 8 on new server, but tutorials for migration recommend to migrate from one server to another on same version on jira, and then upgrade jira, but we already have installed jira 8 on new server.
Is there any way to migrate from jira 7 to jira 8, without removing current installed jira 8, installing jira 7 and then upgrade jira 7 to jira 8.
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Vidict Admin
1. Please follow the below high level scinario of Server migration.
Back up your installation and home directory.
2. Go to old server where you have Jira v7.x installed. Then Upgrade the Jira from
Jira v7 --> to Jirav8.x
3. Take the XML back up of Jira v8.x from the old server.
4. Then go to New server where newly installed Jira v.8.x
5. Back up your New Jira installation and home directory.
6. Restore the Jira v8.x XML back up into Newly installed Jira v.8.x
7. Copy the Jira home directory from old server to new server.
8. Changed database details in the db config file and update with the new database details
Ex : <home-directory>/dbconfig.xml.
9. Update the home directory path if required.
Ex:
<installation-directory>\atlassian-Jira\WEB-INF\classes\Jira-application.properties
Please follow this link if you need any further info
