We use delegated ldap authentication and are setting up new AD groups. One for internal users and one for external users. All users (beside a few in local directory) currently authenticate to top level of our AD and we want to have them authenticate based on whether they are internal or external, mainly because for new users we want to automatically assign them to groups based on which type of user they are. Currently with migrating users you can only do from one user directory to another. Has anyone successfully been able to do this type of migration? Maybe through changing database entries?
Thank you.
@Deb SpraguePlease see article here to see what you can migrate btw and how
Migrating users between user directories

Hi Moses... Thank you for the reply. I have researched that quite a bit and the part that I'm having problem with in the migration is:
However, it cannot be used for any of the following scenarios:
I've opened ticket with Atlassian and basically they confirm the migration tool cannot do that and cannot give specifics on how it would be accomplished by other means like maybe changing directory ids for users in the database? But I'm sure its probably more complicated than just that, otherwise I would think there would be a workaround of sorts in that link.

@Deb SpragueOk, but could you take a look at this, it's some what related to what you ask https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Is-it-possible-to-move-to-other-LDAP-but-keep-current-groups/qaq-p/821351#M264751
