It seems that there's a new "feature" that automatically scrolls/reloads/animates the backlog -- when one sends an issue to the top or bottom of the backlog, when one moves the mouse from the detail view at the right back into the backlog space, when one moves the mouse from the epic panel on the left into the backlog space, etc. etc. The tickets remain in the correct relative position (thankfully), but they don't always return to the same absolute position on the screen.
Does anyone know how to turn this off?
Our backlog is longer than I would like (~ 250), so the animation of starting at the top and then scrolling down to where I was before is time-consuming, headache-inducing, and generally maddening.
Hello Ashley,
I understood that, when you move an issue from a board column, it is automatically sent to the top/bottom of the column, causing the page to scroll until the section where the issue is displayed. Is it correct?
If I have properly understood it, I would like to say that the order of issues in the board columns are based in the sort you added to the board filter at Board settings > General > Filter Query.
That been said, you can change the order which the issues will be placed by editing the parameter ORDER BY in the board query, so the issues can be moved to the top or even to the middle of the column based on that sort:
P.S: The steps above are not applicable to Next-gen boards.
Additionally, we have a feature request opened to remove the scroll down when an issue is moved to the bottom of the column:
- Remove scroll down on a board when an issue is moved to the bottom of a column whit many issues
