Hi Hari,

If you are continuously hitting a REST endpoint on your site, it is possible that this is causing a severe performance problem for your instance.  Are you using Jira Cloud or Jira Server?

To the best of my knowledge Jira Server is not rate limiting API calls.

Technically Jira Cloud has not had a rate limiting feature either as described in Are there rate limits for JIRA Cloud APIs?

But from that answer:

There are no rate limits on requests to JIRA Cloud REST API resources right now, although we do actively monitor for situations where requests are detrimental to JIRA performance. It is highly likely that we will introduce some kind of rate limiting for JIRA in the future.

If you are continuously doing a search of issues over and over, then it is conceivable that this could be measured as a task that is causing a performance problem, particularly if there are a large number of issues in your environment and/or search results.

If you see this problem happening on your Cloud instance, it might be helpful to create a support ticket about this issue on https://getsupport.atlassian.com
