once sprint is completed, the sprint box remain showing in jira backlog page!

if i create a new sprint, let's say sprint 1,, add issues to it, the team work on it for 2 weeks. then everything is done so all issues are actually resolved. the sprint is then completed (ended) so no active sprint is there.. YET, i still see the sprint 1 box in backlog.. how do i get rid of it so i can not to consume a space without a value

that sure seems weird. cloud or server? can you post screenshot of "active sprint" and backlog.
