Hi, what permisssions a user need to to drag a issue to the closed column on the board?

Is it enough only "Jira software application access"? Or the user should have: Browse Permission, Transition issues?

Thank you

Hello @Cristina - Elena Andrei

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Here is a reference to the Atlassian documentation on Permissions for Jira Server/Data Center.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/managing-project-permissions-938847145.html

A user must have the Browse Projects permission to see the issues at all.

The user must have the Transition Issues permission to change the status (drag between columns).

The user must have the Resolve Issues permission to set the Resolution value for the issue, which is usually included in changing an issue status to a "done" status.

The user must have the Close Issues permission to specifically move issues to a "done" status.

The user might also need the Edit Issues permission. That one I'm not sure about. I don't have an environment where I can test the ability to close an issue without that permission.

Additionally there may be Issue Security or Workflow Transition Conditions or Validators that impact the ability of a user to change the status of issues.

Hi Cristina - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You will need the Transition Issues and the Resolve Issues. Maybe also the Close Issues.
