hi all,
I have a project with a single issue type of initiative. That initiative has a dropdown field called "initiative type" and the options are modex, pilot, poc. Depending on what you select the ticket will drive down a different path in the workflow. The workflow provides a few different scenarios.
Here is where it gets tricky.
So i have a request in for a pie chart that shows initiatives completed by type.
The problem is that of the 11 pilots completed 4 of them were poc and 2 of them were modex and only appear as a pilot count.
Anyone have any ideas how to get this to account for the scenarios when a modex or a poc is approved and assumed completed but moved to the pilot and also completed and needs to be accounted for by both?
Hello Scott,
Analyzing your scenario and the way you would like to report the progress on it, I think you can use sub-tasks to define the Pilot, Modex and PoC instead of a select list field.
Explaining better, you can create a new sub-task (Pilot, Modex and PoC) under the Initiative to track its progress, so you would be able to close and create new sub-tasks to register your issue movements - all linked to the same initiative and all counting in the Pie Chart Report.
In a practical scenario:
- Let's suppose you create an initiative and, under that initiative, a Modex (Sub-task)
- Your Modex was approved to become a pilot
- You close the Modex as completed
- You create a new sub-task of the type Pilot in the same initiative
Performing the steps above, you would be able to return all the pilots, PoC and Modex under a specific initiative using the Pie Chart.
Let me know if it makes sense to you.
