Hello everyone!
I work for a company (that was hired by a company) that currently uses JIRA to manage tickets coming in from clients. I do not have admin privileges but I do have what I hope is a simple question (although I'm not 100% sure on the innerworkings of JIRA myself).
We're having trouble with auditing our tickets. When we export the information from a certain project on JIRA we're needing a solution that'll allow us to have a nice, concise internal comment listed as one of the columns. I've noticed that there is an "Any additional information" column that I can bring up and export with all my tickets but I can't for the life of me figure out how that column is related to the ticket (or how to fill it out pre-export).
Is there any way of doing this, or any other solution y'all can think of, or am I way off base?
I really appreciate any guidance!
Hi @CJ Standley and welcome to the community,
If you don't have administrator privileges, you won't be able to update the necessary configuration yourself and you'll need to reach out to a Jira administrator.
The column you refer to is a custom field. If you want it to be filled out on tickets you are using, that custom field must be present on the create/edit screen of the issue you are working with.
To communicate properly with the Jira admin, you should ask him/her to add the "any additional information" custom field to the create/edit screens of any issue type (task, bug, story, ...) in the project(s) you work in. All that information is important.
They should be able to help you out with that input.
Hope this helps!
Hello Walter,
Thank you for the quick and kind response. I imagine this has gotta be the fix; I'll be sending it over to the administrator on Monday. Thanks for giving me the right things to say too! This'll save my team a ton of time on the project we're working.
Enjoy the week, I appreciate you!
