"Writing assistant" icon disappeared

The "writing assistant" icon disappeared without any changes being made. 

Is there a software update or a down time at the moment?

The icon was working fine until this afternoon.

The option is active in my sites. Can you check with your org admin whether the AI functionality is disabled for the Confluence product (now called app) -> https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/activate-atlassian-intelligence-for-products/

I have reached out to my admin. 

My admin mentions the AI functionality seems to be enabled and this could be an issue with Atlassian

The screenshot you shared doesnt have 'Confluence' in the list but only jira and compass.  And the other screenshot was from the confluence page's 'writing assistant'. 

Are you experiencing the issue in jira or confluence? If confluence, doesnt your admin not see it in the 'Atlassian intelligence' list?
