replace migrated roles

After our migration we now have the same role once with (migrated) and once without.
What steps should we take in order to correctly replace them?
I already have prepared a roadmap but it won't be bad to have someone more experienced look over it: 

1. Identify Users with "xyz (migrated)" Role:

   • Identify the users currently assigned the "xyz (migrated)" role. (Per API?)

2. Review Permissions:

   • Review the permissions associated with both roles ("xyz (migrated)" and "xyz") to ensure the users' access stays the same.

3. Change User Roles:

   • Change the roles of the identified users from "xyz (migrated)" to "xyz."
   • Any suggestions for the specific steps for doing this?
