scrum view is broken post migration

Guilherme Henrique da Silva January 3, 2024

I've migrated all company jira data to another new account company, because now it's a new separated product, and I deleted all unrelated projects on that migration, and lefts just one project. And now the scrum view is broken (on source of migrations everything works ok).

When I try to edit an issue from Scrum status columns like move, change resume title, assigned user, etc, it's look has successful worked, but when wait some seconds it rollbacks.

I recorded an video to show it because it's unbeliveble:

Hello @Guilherme Henrique da Silva

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

What method did you use to migrate the data? Can you provide a link to the documentation you referenced for that information?

It appears that the project in your video is a "Team Managed" project versus a "Company Managed" project. Is that correct?

If you make those changes from the display of the issue details rather than moving or updating the card directly on the board, then do the changes remain?

What is shown in the History of the changed issue? Does it show an entry for the change you made and then another entry for the change being reversed?

Hello @Trudy Claspill, my pleasure.

I've used that migration method:
Captura-de-tela-2024-01-03 as 21.22.51.png
and I belive that is the right documentation about that function: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/export-issues/
its generate a .zip to be imported

And no, that isn't a "Team Managed" exported source and imported as a "Company Managed", in all time it is an "Team Managed".

Yes, if made the changes from the issue details directly, it's changes direct but the visually rollback keeps happen, and when changes are made from the scrum view, its update the issue data but visually rolls back. These changes are showed on issue history (except the reverted changes, isn't appears), but don't is visually compatible with the scrum view.

I've recorded an another video to show a little bit of more details about issue history to make it clear: Youtube

Hello @Guilherme Henrique da Silva

Reviewing the original video, at the bottom of the panel on the left is the text "Voce esta em um projecto gerenciado por uma equipe". When I run that through Google Translator it comes back in English as "You are in a project managed by a team".

Additionally in the upper left area above the board columns is a pull down field labeled "Agrupar por" which translate as "Group by".

These two items indicate that the project being viewed in your first video is a Team Managed project, not a Company Managed project.

That doesn't address your issue in any way. I want to make sure that we first are in agreement on whether the project is a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project.

Unfortunately I don't have any explanation for why the details in your issue show one set of information but your board view shows a different set of information.

Have you tried this in different types of web browser applications?

Does it happen for all users?

Guilherme Henrique da Silva January 3, 2024

Hello @Trudy Claspill ,

Yes, absolutely is a Team Managed Project.

It happens with all users, not just with me. In other company using Jira with same browser, isn't happen. But i already tried with other browsers. Mobile application too.

Hello @Guilherme Henrique da Silva

Another suggestion from another community leaders ( @Dirk Ronsmans ) is to try the same thing in a Chrome Incognito window and see if the problem still occurs. Perhaps app extensions in your browser are causing a problem.

Another suggestion came up to check if there is an Automation rule running, but you have said and shown that the changes are correctly reflected in the issue details, and the problem is the information displayed in the board does not agree with those details.

Another suggestion that came up was to create a new Scrum board with the same configuration. Unfortunately with a Team Managed project it is not possible to create multiple boards that function like the board created with the project itself.

I would also recommend that you try another migration of the data to a new site to see if the same behavior occurs after a clean migration.

Hello,

I already tried with an other browsers, including the Incognito window, but the problems keep happen.

Tried with some other new projects from other companies, and works fine.

None automations are defined on that migration.

Also, tried an new migration, and the same problems keeps.

New Scrum board works fine, but when I move all items between projects, I lost issues IDs references.

Hello,

I don't have any more suggestions for things to check, and I can't explain the behavior you are experiencing.

You tagged this post to indicate you are using the Free version of the product, which means you would not be able to open a support case directly with Atlassian. So I have added a tag to your post to alert the Atlassian team to see if they can offer any insights.
