single authentication for jira and confluence

We have AD and some external users in jira.

AD users - no issues.

External users - I need to have same login credentials for both jira and confluence.

Those users need to be maintained from only jira.

Any idea how to achieve this.

we can create jira server user and point confluence to that directory.

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

There are two ways I can think of:

1. You can get Crowd application and manage access via there. (Commercial)

2. Provide AD accounts to external users.
