splitting sub tasks off to create a new issue

hi 

the issues I have contain subtasks, the parent is what is called a booking which containers anywhere from 10-40 sub tasks. at times some of the subtasks would need to be moved (or we call them split off from the original parent issue (or booking)). Does anyone have an idea of how this could be done or if its even possible?
