story points missing from story

I was made an admin of an existing project and trying to add story points to the existing tickets but i do not see the field? I had made sure the field is available in the settings. If I create a new issues, I see the field for story point but am unable to do so for existing tickets. Is there a way to add this field on existing issues?

If you are a jira administrator, verify if there is a separate screen for Edit/View.  If there is one, make sure to add the story point field to the screen as well.
