subtasks in sprint reports

Hello,

can I see story point totals from subtasks in sprint reports? I did a test sprint with a test ticket and even though two of the three subtasks were completed, unfortunately we don't have statistics for it because the report includes the parent.

Hi @bartlomiej.jochym,

Your observation is correct. The sprint report only looks at parent issues and does not take estimates on sub-tasks into account. This is so by design.

See your parent issues as the features being delivered. As long as part of a feature is not complete, the whole feature is not finished and so (from your customer / end user perspective) nothing is delivered at all.

Hope this helps!

Hi @bartlomiej.jochym,

The Jira reports do not count the sub-tasks.

But you could easily have the necessary charts & reports with sub-tasks, by using the gadgets offered by our Great Gadgets app.

For example, the Sprint Burndown Burnup Chart gadget can include the subtasks in the calculation.

And, on its Data tab, it displays a nice sprint report that shows the subtasks.

Same as this are the Team Velocity gadget and Release Burndown Chart gadget offered by the same app. So a complete solution for your Scrum projects that takes the sub-tasks into consideration.
